When I first arrived at the course, I was very warmly welcomed by Chris and Lesley Weaver. The course was taught at a really nice location - MAC centre in Birmingham.
As the course progressed, I quickly came to learn that Chris was an expert and master in all the different aspects of film making. The first day we learnt about the theory side to operating a camera and shooting a film. The second day consisted of part theory and part hands-on practical of operating a camera. Having been to university, usually after 2 hours in a lecture/seminar I start to drift off and fall asleep. However throughout this course, I was very engaged and found the theory material fascinating. Chris regularly used to engage us in conversations and it was good to interact with others whilst debating about different topics. There were topics that were not on the syllabus that I wanted to learn more about such as the grading process after shooting a film. Therefore Chris used to happily take his time out after the class finished to sit down and explain to me what I wanted to learn. Any question that I asked him, he had an answer for. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this course to anyone who wants to learn more about operating different cameras, or wanting to learn more of the theory side to cameras. I think Free Spirit Film have a great thing going on in Birmingham and I will be attending other courses that they offer in the near future.
